Last Sip Of Summer Will Benefit Local Public Schools

khts_inthecommunity2The Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation is presenting Last Sip of Summer, a wine tasting fundraiser benefiting local public schools through a program of the Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation on August 1. Guests attending will enjoy wine tasting, raffles, auctions, games, snacks, and live entertainment from Jonathan LaFrance.

The Student Enrichment Awards For Teachers is the program of the foundation that The Last Sip of Summer will benefit. It is a program that allows teachers of local public schools the opportunity to request materials for projects and programs that they may not be able to afford due to insufficient funds or recent budget cuts.

These materials may include science equipment, art supplies, library books, items to publish a school newspaper, laptops, keyboards, and much more.

“Our mission is to support public school education and this program is one of the ways to support it,” said Anne Unger, Executive Director of the SCV Education Foundation, “We want to support the teachers who want to be innovative and creative and want to enhance the classroom experience for the kids and the teachers.”

For $35 you can attend Last Sip of Summer and also make tremendous contributions that will help our local public schools. For $3.75 each, 220 students can have access to a language and literacy library.  $1.44 each will give 1027 students the chance to play the ukulele. At only $.67 each, 900 students will benefit from a school news TV network.

The Last Sip of Summer will be held at All Corked Up from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cost to attend is $35.
