An Agua Dulce man was killed Monday night when his car
overturned on a rural portion of Escondido Canyon Road.
Neighbors told CHP investigators that they heard crashing sounds around 11:20 pm, but didn’t see anything in the
darkness.
Shortly after dawn, a car was found off the road near Norcross
Road. Investigators told KHTS that the man, who was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra, was
traveling eastbound on Escondido Canyon Road
at an unknown speed when the car ran off the north edge of the roadway and
overturned, hitting a metal pole, a wooden fence, a storage container and a
tree, coming to rest on its roof.
The driver sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification
of next of kin.
