Steven Lavaggi, the “Artist of Hope” and a top seller on QVC was on hand Tuesday at Providence Holy Cross Cancer Center to help unveil a life-size bronze statue dubbed the “Healing Angel of Reconciliation.”

The bronze statue was cast at the request of the Cancer Center’s lead physician Dr. Shamel Sanani, who in turn was fulfilling one of the final wishes of former patient Jean Seratti.

Jean’s surviving daughter Jeri spoke at the unveiling ceremony, along with Dr. Sanani, and Brigette Loden representing Providence Holy Cross.

Lavaggi traveled with his family from their home in Texas to attend the event, in which he also lent words.

The statue was commissioned through donor contributions.
