No stopping in sight until agreements are reached
Republican and Democrat legislative leaders continued to make progress Wednesday in resolving the remaining differences that have held up passage of a state budget plan for the 2007-08 fiscal year.
Though no agreement was reached during the day’s meetings, the leaders pledged to continue their negotiations and work through the outstanding issues until a final budget agreement between the parties is reached.
“While we have not yet resolved all of the our differences, I am pleased by the progress we have made so far in our budget negotiations, and am confident that we will soon be able to reach agreement on a budget that makes sense for California,” said Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines, of Fresno.
