Half Day program teaches preparedness
[view:node_ad=5]On Saturday, October 27th, the head of the LAPD Emergency Preparedness Unit will teach a half day program designed to educate and prepare Santa Clarita residents for a disaster.
The class will run from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the College of the Canyons, Canyon Country Campus.
During the program, participants will be introduced to region specific threats that include terrorism, hazardous materials, pandemic disease, and earthquakes. Then, they will learn realistic steps that will help to protect their families.
The cost if the course is $45.00, and an additional $15.00 materials cost will include a resource book containing important emergency information.
The class is being offered by the College of the Canyons Community Extension Program, so interested parties can enroll online at www.canyons.communityext.net . Then open the “Courses” option, look under “Personal Interest” and click “Health and Safety.”
