The job interview can be one of the most stressful parts of finding a job and a new workshop aims to help women better prepare. Sue Reynolds, a senior partner with NewMarket Careers, will teach local women how to interview for a new job without worry and stress.
The Zonta Club will be sponsoring the free workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, in the community room at Valencia Library.
In Saturday’s workshop, Reynolds will teach participants how to prepare for an interview, how to develop answers for interview questions, and what questions to ask the interviewer. The workshop will include an opportunity to practice interviewing with HR professionals.
The series of workshops has focused on selecting a career and pursuing it to a rewarding job. Workshops in the past have helped women choose a career and write a resume, the current program offers women tips once they have progressed to the interview stage.
In her position with NewMarket Careers, Reynolds assists people and organizations who are in career search or career transition, or in need of executive coaching and business planning.
She is active in the SCV Chamber of Commerce and Valley Industrial Association and is a board member of Soroptimist of Greater SCV and the SCV Education Foundation.
She has mentored and conducted presentations for area high school students for both the School & Business Alliance as well as Junior Achievement.
Zonta’s LifeForward workshops are geared toward helping local women be successful and independent. The programs are presented by industry professionals and are offered to the community free of charge.
The final workshop in the current series is scheduled for Saturday, July 31, at a location to be determined. It will help women succeed in the workplace once they have successfully completed their job search.
Women interested in attending Saturday’s workshop can RSVP to the Zonta message line at (661) 252-9351 or by e-mail to Lifeforward@scvzonta.org.
