Learn To Conserve At Water Agency Open House

Make a splash and learn about water conservation at the same time. The Castaic Lake Water Agency is holding its annual Open House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and the public is invited.

Tour the CLWA Conservatory Garden and learn about drought-tolerant plants. Learn how to plant your own pizza garden, with things like oregano, tomatoes and mushrooms, and take some composting and landscape education classes, as well as tour the Conservatory Garden.

There are activities for the whole family, including an animal show from Placerita Nature Center, games and prizes, water-saving items, balloons, popcorn and lemonade.

Families will also be able to pick up tree seedlings from the Saugus Forestry Unit.

Celebrate May as California’s Water Awareness Month at the open house. For more information, visit www.clwa.org. CLWA is located at 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road; at the entrance of Central Park, turn left and go to the top of the hill.
