Representative McKeon and Chairman Knollenberg will be receiving a briefing from the City of Santa Clarita and Golden State Gateway Coalition about two local transportation projects of national importance currently seeking funding through the Federal Fiscal Year 2006 transportation appropriations process.
The invitation-only event will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the City of Santa Clarita Activities Center, located at the George Caravalho Sports Complex, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita.
The City of Santa Clarita will be presenting the Cross Valley Connector project. The Golden State Gateway Coalition will be presenting the Interstate 5 Gateway Improvement project.
“The City of Santa Clarita is most appreciative of Congressman McKeon’s extraordinary efforts to show Chairman Knollenberg our region’s transportation needs and their relationship to national transportation priorities,” stated Councilmember Frank Ferry.
“Given the large number of projects submitted for funding from across the nation, we are pleased that Chairman Knollenberg will be traveling to Santa Clarita to personally hear about our projects prior to his committee considering them for funding.”
