Aron Emily Jacques, 35, was ordered to pay undisclosed amount in restitution to the owners of nine horses, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Spokesman Ricardo Santiago.

The amount will be disclosed at a later time, said Santiago.

On Oct. 28, 2015, Jacques entered a plea deal to one count of animal cruelty and was sentenced to two years in county jail by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Kathleen Blanchard.

She was charged with starving or neglecting to care for nine horses.

As part of her plea, Jacques agreed to pay restitution to the owners of all the horses and to the county’s Department of Animal Care and Control for investigative costs.

Deputy District Attorney Daniel Rochmes, who prosecuted the case, said several horses were found starving by Los Angeles County animal officials on the defendant’s property in February 2014.

One of the horses died on the defendant’s property and three had to be euthanized as a result of her negligent care, the prosecutor added.

  1. Whatever her penalty it can’t be enough to make up for hurting the horses.

  2. They should put her in a cell and starve her. Neglect her needs and let her die. Why did n’t any of these owners notice their horses were starving. I’m assuming they were boarding them with this lady but don’t they visit their animals??. Ownership is more then paying to board them it is love and attention. It seams to me the owners should also be charged for neglect. They are ultimately responsible for their animals well being. It is like sending your child to daycare as a parent your still responsible for the child regardless if you hired someone to help with the care.
