SCAA to team with FASTFRAME

khts_inthecommunity

Local artists can expect a new venue for their paintings. Beginning in August, the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association (SCAA) will team with FASTFRAME in Valencia to provide a space for local artists to display their work.

“I’m thrilled with our new relationship with FASTFRAME,” says SCAA President Laurie Morgan. “Randy and Rose-Marie are easy to work with and have a great love of art. They are truly supportive of the SCAA by providing exhibit space for our artists, sponsorship for our events and discount framing for our members.”

The SCAA’s goal is to make “visual art visible” and the FASTFRAME location will be used to showcase a different local artist each month. The program’s inaugural exhibit in August will feature the work of Olga Kaczmar, including many landscape oil paintings.  Kaczmar’s work spans a wide variety of media and subject matter; she uses watercolor, oils, charcoal, and computer graphics to present harsh social issues, such as the Ukrainian genocide of 1932, as well as more tranquil scenes of animals, landscapes, and portraits.

Jane Mick, September’s featured artist, intends her work as a series of conversation pieces, providing atmosphere to social settings. Her subjects include romantic scenes, dancing figures, and still life.
