The Los Angeles County Operational Area will close the Local Assistance Centers for fire victims at the close of business (2 p.m.) on Sunday, November 4, 2007.
Two federal agencies, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA), will remain at certain sites, as indicated below, for an additional two weeks to continue to assist individuals and business owners with the completion of their applications for assistance.

The Local Assistance Centers have served as one-stop sources for disaster relief services since Friday, October 26, 2007. They provided a single place for victims of the October 2007 wildfires to obtain recovery assistance.
Residents and business owners who sustained losses in Los Angeles County can continue to apply for assistance by registering with FEMA online at http://www.fema.gov or by calling
1-800-621-FEMA (3362) OR 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers for California will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Residents may also call 211 LA County for information and referral services regarding post disaster resources that are available for those affected by the wildfires. The toll-free 2-1-1 number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 211 services can also be accessed by dialing 1-800-980-4990 or by visiting www.211LACounty.org.
