Vehicle spotted, suspect arrested without incident.
Newhall units of the California Highway Patrol took a man wanted for attempted murder off the freeway Monday night.
According to Officer John Lutz, a call went out at 2:25 a.m. that Kern County officials were looking for a black Yukon being driven by a person suspected of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and attempted murder related to an incident that took place in Kern about 1:35 a.m.
Officers spotted the vehicle on the southbound I-5 just south of Highway 126 and made a felony stop, arresting Armando R. Diego, 22, of Lamont. He was turned over to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department for booking.
