Local Firefighter Raises Money for Fallen Comrades

Friday, July 28th, 2006 at 2 pm, at Fire Station 126, Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman will present an award to local Fire Captain Hall Stratton for his efforts to raise money for injured and fallen firefighters. Fire Station 126 is located at 26320 Citrus Street in Valencia.

Fire Captain Hall Stratton ran a portion of the 104 mile run this past June with former injured firefighter Kenneth Perry. Perry’s annual run benefiting the Wildland Firefighter Foundation raises money for families who have lost loved ones fighting wildland fires. Stratton assembled a team of fire department volunteers to support Perry’s run and garnered support from local businesses and restaurants. This was Captain Stratton’s second year in support of the event, which raised over $35,000.  The run began in Lancaster and ended at Fire Station 126 in Valencia.
