Local High School Student’s Artwork To Be Displayed in Washington D.C.

Valencia High School student Jordan Recchia has won the Congressional Washington D.C. Art Competition. His winning entry, a portrait of his father which was painted in oil pastels, will hang in the Capitol's Gallery amongst other high school students from the United States for one year. He is representing our district in California under Congressman Buck McKeon. With a special invitation through your Congressman, you can visit the gallery which is located under the Capitol between the two Houses of Representatives.

Jordan will be going to Washington D.C. for the opening ceremony. While there, he will have the opportunity to meet with the Congressman and view his work. Jordan, a junior at Valencia High is in his second year of AP Art and plans to be a transportation designer in the future

.

The contest was coordinated through the efforts of Gloria Locke, owner of SCV Arts. Carl Goldman, owner of KHTS radio and Linda Lambourne, representative from Congressman McKeon's Santa Clarita office.
