Local Life Coach Explains How To Have A Happy Holiday

The holidays are filled with family, friends, parties, food, and many social interactions. They can be a happy time, or they can be a hard time; you are always the one creating the experience for yourself. Start this holiday season out right by creating an intention, says a Santa Clarita Valley Life Coach.

“Just because it’s a holiday, we’re supposed to have a good time,” said Santa Clarita Valley Life Coach Alex Urbina. “And then we might be disappointed that we don’t.”

“We should all sit down and determine what our intentions are for our holiday season,” said Urbina.

“Your intention is the most powerful tool you have as a creative being, it sets the foundation for your experience to manifest itself,” continued Urbina.

How we look at holidays, and how we define holidays, is how to determine what your intention for this Holiday Season will be.

“Just ask yourself, ‘Why are they important to me?’’ “What experience do I want to have?” “Who do I need to BE for everyone to feel safe, welcomed, accepted, and free to be themselves?” said Urbina.

Choosing to feel good even when you might not want to may help you experience and co-create your social interactions.

“You’re creating your experience,” said Wendy Amara, Urbina’s co-anchor on his radio show Life Leadership. “Give yourself permission to create that experience,” added Urbina.

Amara gave the metaphor, “When you walk into the room, you have the option of being the thermometer, or the temperature”.

You can be the thermometer by assessing the situation, and absorbing what is going on, or you can be the temperature, and create the experience you are wanting, according to Amara.

For example: If you want a happy family occasion this holiday season, but people are fighting and the room is filled with tension, you have two options: 1) meet the tension with your own tension thus creating more of it, or  2) Choose to BE a loving, accepting and joyful invitation; everything else is out of your control.

What you do and how you are feeling will affect other people. So this holiday season, be happy and others may follow suit.
