The Santa Clarita Artists’ Association will host their 21st annual Art Classic this October, but a number of the artists who will be showcasing art are getting a jump start on their works.
The deadline to enter a piece of art for the Art Classic is September 9, and many artists are using local places as the inspiration for their pieces.
Cecily Williams used Le Chene Restaurant as the idea behind her piece painted in watercolor.
Jane Mick chose romantic view of the Westfield Valencia Town Center for her piece created in oil.
“The early mornings at the mall are very calm before the rush of shoppers. As you take a peaceful morning walk, the flowers are blooming and you can hear the soft music playing,” says Jane.
Vasquez Rocks was the inspiration behind Lucy Medina’s acrylic on canvas piece.
San Francisquito Canyon was lit up by a sunset when Olga Kaczmar captured her view.
These artists and more will be featured at the Art Classic on October 17, at Hart Park. Those attending can also help pick a winner with the People’s Choice Awards. For more information on the show click here.
