A nonprofit conservation organization named the Santa Clara River one of the country’s most endangered rivers….
The Santa Clara River is one of the last remaining natural rivers in California, and is becoming endangered because of the developments planned to be built along its banks.
One of the major projects contributing to this label is a 20,000 home project called “Newhall Ranch,” headed by developer Newhall Land and Farming. A spokesperson from Newhall Land assures Santa Clarita residents that all necessary steps have been taken to protect the river.
