[view:node_ad=5]A search warrant at The Smoke and Cerveza Store, 22940 1/2 Lyons Avenue, Newhall, resulted in the arrests of the owner and an employee. The warrant was the result of a month long investigation which began due to neighborhood complaints and verifiable tips to Station Narcotics Detectives.
After investigation, a search warrant was sought, and a search of the business was completed in conjunction with Alcohol Beverage Control. The project netted Methamphetamine, a video slot machine, and drug paraphernalia.
The business owner, Pacifico Palo, M/47, resident of Canyon Country, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine. An employee, Gerardo Tamayo, M/33, resident of Saugus, was arrested for sale of illegal narcotics.
They were both cited for several other code violations as follows: illegal operation of a video slot machine, allowing consumption of alcohol on the premises, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two were booked at Santa Clarita Valley Station. Palo is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail and Tamayo is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail. The video slot machine, seized by Alcohol Beverage Control, contained $1,784.
