Local Teen Appears In Major Nike Commercial

Garrison_SaenzCanyon Country resident, Garrison Saenz, 19, played a role in Nike’s “The Educators” advertisement campaign filmed at College of the Canyons, though it was not the one he expected to play.  Saenz was hired to perform a skateboarding trick during the commercial, but because of production delays, he was given a new role as the first person viewers see in the minute long commercial.

The Educators features “The Foot Locker Advantage Academy, “ staffed by Amar’e Stoudemire, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, Larry Fitzgerald, and Anna Pierce.  On The Educator’s website, each athlete has videos that highlight the advantage of their shoe including quickness, cushioning, speed, and endurance.

Saenz has been a skateboarder for 11 years, a hobby that has landed him several roles in commercials.  Though this was his first time working with Nike, he hopes that he will have opportunities to work with them in the future.
