Long-Term Closure of Southbound I-5 Off-ramp at San Fernando Mission Blvd., 9/8

Sylmar/North San Fernando Valley – As part of the ongoing $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14 – the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the southbound I-5 off-ramp at San Fernando Mission Blvd. from 8 p.m. Friday, September 8 through 8 p.m. Friday, November 3.
 
The southbound I-5 off-ramp at Paxton Street is a suggested alternate off-ramp during this ramp closure.
 
This closure is weather-permitting and subject to change.  Signs will be posted to assist motorists.  Estimated completion is summer, 2007.
 
Caltrans reminds motorists to please SLOW FOR THE CONE ZONE.
