The second annual “Los Angeles County Pledge to Prepare” campaign was announced by Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich on Thursday, July 9.

Jeff Reeb of L.A. County Office of Emergency Management, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and members of the clergy and faith-based organizations from around the county also announced the campaign with Antonovich.
“The faith-based community and other community-based organizations are vital partners in our effort to prepare our county residents and empower them with knowledge about what actions to take before, during and after a disaster,” Antonovich said.
Also in attendance were Dr. Jannah Scott, Deputy Director, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center for Faith-Based & Neighborhood Partnerships, Mike Blass, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Anna Burton, Assistant General Manager City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department, Bishop Juan Carlos Mendez, President, Churches for Action & Centro Cristiano LA, Adnan Ul Haq Khan, Council of Pakistan American Affairs and Senior Pastor Theotis Wilkins, Three Oaks Missionary Baptist Church.
