Los Angeles County Opens Two Cooling Centers in Santa Clarita Valley

Los Angeles — Continued extreme temperatures and power outages threaten the safety of seniors and others who face heat-related health difficulties and stress. Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich has directed County departments to open two Santa Clarita Valley facilities to serve as “cooling centers” for those in need of relief from the heat and humidity.   These cooling centers are open now at:

Castaic Sports Complex
31230 N. Castaic Lake
Castaic
William S. Hart Park – Hart Hall
24151 San Fernando Rd
Newhall

“Until the weather changes, these cooling station facilities are open now to serve seniors and others adversely affected by the extreme heat or those without power,” said County Mayor Antonovich.  “It is vital that we contact our senior relatives to determine whether they need additional care or to be transported to a cooling station or medical facility.”
