All areas of the Los Padres National Forest, with the exception of the Santa Barbara Ranger District’s Lower Santa Ynez Recreation Area, will not require a National Forest Adventure Pass.
“This is an exceptional opportunity for visitors to use this fee-free day to experience the recreational activities available to them on the forest,” said Jeff Benson, assistant recreation officer for the Los Padres National Forest.
“Get Outdoors Day is your invitation to embark on an adventure that will create lifelong memories,” Benson said.
The fee-free days for this year are:
-Martin Luther King Jr.’s holiday (January 14)
-Get Outdoors Day (June 8)
–National Public Lands Day (September 28)
-Veteran’s Day Weekend (November 9-11)
Visitors who have already purchased a Daily Adventure Pass for June 8 can have it replaced free-of-charge.
Although Adventure Pass fees have been waived, campground, reservation and group site fees may still occur.
