Lyons Avenue Construction To Begin May 14

khts_trafficalertRoad construction will take place westbound and eastbound on Lyons Avenue, between Wiley Canyon Road and Interstate 5, starting Monday, May 14 and continuing into early June as part of a roadway repaving project.  Drivers should anticipate nighttime traffic delays Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The top three inches of asphalt will be grinded and repaved with new rubberized asphalt to strengthen the road and help reduce traffic noise.  Temporary asphalt ramps will be installed at all intersections and driveways to prevent cars from experiencing undercarriage damage when driving on Lyons Avenue.

Lane closures are expected during construction hours, with partial lane openings for through traffic.  Drivers are encouraged to commute slowly and cautiously, as there may be loose gravel on Lyons Avenue until road paving is complete.

Residents and business owners should also expect construction noise during nighttime construction hours.
