Community to celebrate Grand Opening
The ever-changing traffic patterns around the Magic Mountain onramp are finally a thing of the past as the Magic Mountain/I-5 Expansion Project is now officially complete. The Santa Clarita City Council, community members, local businesses, and project partners will gather to celebrate its Grand Opening at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8.
The result of cooperation between MTA, Los Angeles County, Caltrans, and Newhall Land, the multi-million dollar project is intended to update and improve Santa Clarita’s transportation system by enhancing safety and alleviating congestion around one of the City’s most frequently used highway arteries.
“Thanks to the expansion project’s improvements, the Magic Mountain/I-5 Interchange is now better equipped to accommodate rush hour traffic flow as well as provide a safer commute,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “As the community continues to thrive, this popular interchange is now also prepared to meet future transportation needs of the region.”
The event is open to the public and will be held at the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and The Old Road. Attendee parking will be available in the Marie Callendar’s parking lot, located at 27630 The Old Road.
