Santa Clarita Sheriff’s made a major marijuana bust in Castaic.
Investigators served a search warrant on a home on Royal Road in Castaic this morning after a month-long investigation, that started with an anonymous tip.
The tipster reported a foul odor coming from the residence which housed more than 490 marijuana plants.
“This is a very good size grow,” said a narcotics investigator at the scene. “You wouldn’t know anything was going on from the outside, even the grass is well kept.”
Each room of the house was outfitted with growing materials and filled with plants, which in total have an estimated street value of more than $1 million.
No suspects were arrested in the incident, but Lt. Brenda Cambria, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s department, says the investigation is still ongoing.
