A major power failure hit the east side of Canyon Country, in the Shadow Pines area at 7:40pm this evening. 1606 homes were impacted. As of 9:30pm, Edison was able to get several hundred homes back on with power.  1,482 homes are still out. At this time, Edison is still trying to determine the cause of the problem. Crews are out searching down the problem. Until they determine the cause, they do not know how long the power will remain out in the neighborhood.
