What better way to kick off Friday night’s Valencia Jazz and Blues Concert Series show with the National Anthem? And who better to do it than KHTS’ very own, Marie Pyle-Costa?

The 13th annual Jazz and Blues Concert Series will feature many great talents but Pyle-Costa’s performance will be a patriotic salute to July fourth.

“I love supporting local talent,” said Barbara Myler, owner and producer of the Valencia Jazz and Blues Concert Series and of Summit West Public Relations and Marketing. “When I saw the article about Marie on KHTS, I knew I had to jump at the opportunity.”

Pyle-Costa is excited to be performing.

“It is such a great opportunity,” she said. “The show will be a lot of fun.”

Though she performed for the Lakers in 2006, Pyle-Costa says that performing for any crowd gives her butterflies in her stomach.

“I just tell myself failure is not an option,” said Pyle-Costa. “Though I get nervous minutes before, when I’m on stage, it’s ‘go-time’.”

Pyle-Costa will perform the National Anthem at the beginning of the concert series tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m.

The Valencia Jazz and Blues Concert Series takes place at Town Center Drive at Mcbean Parkway in the heart of Valencia.
