Narcotics detectives, acting on a tip from the neighborhood, broke up a small-scale marijuana grow house operation in Valencia Wednesday morning.

According to Sgt. Ronald Price, Anthony Costa, 22, was taken into custody when investigators served a search warrant on his condo at 23625 Del Monte Drive. Detectives searching the condo found approximately 30 plants and other narcotics paraphernalia, including items used in the sale of illegal substances.

Price said neighbors had complained of smoke coming from his garage, where the grow operation was discovered.

Costa faces felony charges of narcotics possession and cultivation of an illegal substance. He is being held at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $30,000 bail and is due to appear in court on Friday.
