Marsha McLean Takes Seat On Board Of California League Of Cities

Marsha McLean Represents North L.A. County.

[view:node_ad=5]Santa Clarita City Councilmember Marsha McLean was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the League of California Cities for the 2008-2010 term and was sworn in at a ceremony in late September, 2008.

McLean served as President of the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities in 2007/2008, having previously served as Vice-President, Secretary and as Treasurer for the League’s largest division. 

Marsha McLean was elected to the Santa Clarita City Council in 2002 and was Santa Clarita’s Mayor in 2007.   For the past two years, McLean served as the Chairperson of the State League of California Cities Community Services Policy Committee. She is currently serving on the State League of California Cities Transportation, Communication and Public Works Policy Committee. 

Marsha was recently selected to serve on the Public Library Commission for the Fifth District.  As Public Library Commissioner, Councilmember McLean advises the Board of Supervisors and the County Librarian on matters of library policy.
   
ImageEmbracing the need for enhanced, regional transportation, Councilmember McLean currently serves as a Director for the Regional Orangeline-Maglev Development Authority, and serves as Transportation and Communications Committee member for the Southern California Association of Governments.  She also serves as the City’s representative on the North County Transportation Coalition and is a member of the Golden State Gateway Coalition.

“I am very proud of the representation Marsha provides our City on these important statewide and regional committees and associations.  She spends a great deal of time advocating for Santa Clarita and helping to make sure that our North Los Angeles County region is adequately represented and that funding is provided on a myriad of issues,” commented Mayor Bob Kellar.
The League of California Cities was developed to be a leading advocate for the interests of the cities of California.  The City of Santa Clarita has been a dues-paying member of the organization since shortly after incorporation in 1987.

The League of California Cities is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities.
