Mayor’s Committee Recognizes Local Businesses’ Efforts

Event to promote disabilities awareness

The SCV Mayor’s Committee for the Employment of Individuals with Disabilities will host its annual luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on October 14. The luncheon recognizes local businesses who have contributed to the employment of persons with disabilities. October is Disabilities Awareness Month.

Actor Jack Patterson will give the keynote address, a presentation titled “I wasn’t disabled until I came to Hollywood.” Councilman Bob Kellar and Ed Masterson from Assemblyman Camron Smyth’s office will present the honors.

The luncheon will be held at the Santa Clarita Activities Center on Center Pointe Parkway. Catered meals may be purchased at the door and guests are encouraged to RSVP to 661-222-7128 or rjr@hartdistrict.org by October 12.
