Mayor’s Committee Honors Tempered Steel Sgt. Tony Lino

khts_inthecommunityThe Santa Clarita Valley Mayor’s Committee for Employment of Individuals With Disabilities is honoring Tempered Steel Wounded Warrior Gunnery Sgt. Tony Lino.

Gunnery Sgt. Lino has served four tours of duty in Iraq and has been wounded twice. Even with his disability, he continues to serve on active duty in the United States Marines.

During the luncheon, Lino will share his story and a speech about treating others who have disabilities with respect, overcoming challenges, and the importance of employment.

Lunch is available for a donation of $12 and an opportunity drawing fundraiser will take place to support their scholarship program.

The event will take place on May 17, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex/Activity Center at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.
