Congressman Buck McKeon has announced that he is cosponsoring the National Day of Prayer Resolution, H.RES.1273, introduced by Congressman Lamar Smith of Texas. The resolution expresses that the National Day of Prayer is constitutional and is a needed tribute to the value of prayer. The resolution also acts as a fitting acknowledgement of our nation’s religious history.
“I am more than honored to join as a cosponsor to this important resolution,” said McKeon. “Prayer is a core element of many Americans’ lives, and I thank Congressman Smith for his hard work in crafting this resolution. Our great country was founded on the principles of religious freedom and the ability for each American to express their religious beliefs. This resolution will ensure that Americans of all religious backgrounds have the ability to continue to express their religious beliefs though prayer on this important day.”
