McKeon Hires Three New Staffers

buckmckeonRep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon today announced the hiring of three new staff members.  JD Kennedy, with the Wounded Warrior Program, joins the team as a Field Representative for the Santa Clarita district office, Michael Orme as a Field Representative for the High Desert region, and Morley Greene as Legislative Communicator handling outreach from Washington, D.C.

“I’m thrilled by our new additions to the McKeon team in the district and Washington, D.C. After Lew Stults retired from my Palmdale district office, we opted to restructure some staff positions to reflect changes in district needs and in order to cover a greater span of area.  We now have four field representatives visiting regularly with constituents and local leaders.  As a D.C.-based component to that reorganization, I’ve added an outreach role to help better align constituent services and needs with day to day floor activity in Washington.  I’m confident that with JD, Michael, and Morley on board, representation for CA-25 will be even more effective and efficient.”

JD Kennedy will serve as a Field Representative specializing in Military and Veterans’ Affairs for Congressman McKeon.  As part of the Wounded Warrior Program, he will perform Veterans’ Outreach and promote the Military Academies to high school students, ROTC Cadets, and all other eligible applicants.  JD enlisted into the Marine Corps in his senior year at McCutcheon High School of Lafayette, IN.  He was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as a Logistic Vehicle Systems Operator and was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) I and II from Camp Lejeune with 2nd Transportation Support Battalion.  In 2007, he was deployed to Iraq from Camp Pendleton, California with CLB 1.  He was honorably discharged from Camp Pendleton in 2008.  JD moved back to Santa Clarita and enrolled at College of the Canyons as a Social Science Major and began interning for Congressman McKeon in December 2009.   JD is currently a member of the American Legion Post 507 in Newhall and the VFW Post 6885 in Canyon Country and was recently elected Judge Advocate at American Legion 507.

Michael Orme will serve as a Field Representative for Congressman McKeon based out of San Bernardino County.  Michael will focus on community outreach, as well as addressing constituent concerns within the region.  Michael was previously the Deputy Chief of Staff to San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.  He has lived in San Bernardino County since 2001 and been a resident of California for 32 years.  Michael graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Business Management.

Morley Greene is currently responsible for Legislative Communications for Congressman McKeon.  Morley’s chief responsibility will be to aid the Congressman in identifying key needs of his constituency.  Prior to joining Congressman McKeon’s team, Morley spent time interning in the Washington, D.C. based public relations firm, Cassidy and Associates.  At Cassidy, he was able to gain valuable experience implementing various advocacy campaigns for clients.  In addition to his time with Cassidy, Morley attended and graduated from the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia.  He began working in McKeon’s Washington office as an intern, following his graduation from Miami University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Political Science.  He is currently a member of the Miami University Alumni Society.
