“I’m pleased to have Leanne on board with us as our New Media and Communications Aide.  From day one she has brought valuable social media ideas to the table, and I always like to see that initiative.  I look forward to working with her in getting my message out to as many constituents as possible utilizing our website, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.”

Leanne Goodman serves as the New Media and Communications Aide in the Washington D.C. Office.  Prior to her new position, Goodman held the role of Field Director for Congressman Dave Reichert’s Re-election Campaign.  With her media experience, she managed the grass-roots E-campaign, which encompassed Congressman Reichert’s website, e-newsletter, and various social media outlets.  Goodman also oversaw the campaigns Get-Out-to-Vote Initiative, which led to a top-ten ranking in voter contacts among Congressional Districts across the nation.

“We now also have Oscar on board with us as our new Legislative Correspondent to handle correspondent to constituent mail and email.  He brings dynamic energy to the position and is excited to take on the role of interacting with constituents on a variety of issues.  The work that he has done on the local level in the Southern California region will make him a great liaison for the DC office.”

Oscar Urteaga, McKeon’s new Legislative Correspondent at the District of Columbia Office, hails from Crystal City.  He has strong familial roots in Peru and after graduating from San Diego State University in May of 2007, he spent eight months in Peru to immerse himself in its culture.  Upon his return to the States, Urteaga became heavily involved in state politics over the next two years working as Regional Political Director for two separate campaigns.  In addition, Oscar is also the Vice President of the House of Peru, a non-profit organization that spreads awareness of Peruvian culture, which is affiliated with the House of Pacific Relations in San Diego.  He is excited to bring his regional experience to the national level for the Congressman.

“And I am also delighted to announce the hiring of Jeff to assist in the Antelope Valley.  I have the upmost respect for Jeff, and know he will serve well as our new Field Representative for the Palmdale area.  Jeff honorably served our country for six years in the Army and has developed a strong connection to the Palmdale community by working in broadcasting there over the past seven years.  I am thrilled to add an individual with his level of experience and leadership in the Palmdale community to our district office.”

Jeff McElfresh will be assuming the role of Field Representative in the Palmdale District office.  His previous position as Program Coordinator at High Desert Broadcasting enabled him to interact with members of the Palmdale community on a personal level.  He served in the United States Army for six years as a Military Police Officer, as well as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Supervisor.  McElfresh, a family man, has been happily married for the past 17 years and has a 16-year old son.  Currently, he resides in the city of Palmdale.
