U.S. Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon, the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement condemning North Korea’s artillery attack against South Korea:

“I join with my colleagues in Congress and the Administration to condemn North Korea’s unprovoked attack on the Republic of Korea.  This latest act of aggression by the North Korean regime is a deliberate escalation of an already tense situation.”

“The United States and the international community, including China, has a responsibility to do all it can to support South Korea in the face of this latest belligerence from the north,” he concluded.
