Marsha McLean was originally elected to the City Council in 2002.
The City Council consists of five members who are elected at-large to serve four-year terms. Each December, the City Council selects a member of the seated Council to serve as Mayor on a one-year rotating basis. The Mayor serves as the spokesperson for the City Council and runs each of the City Council meetings.
“I am very honored to serve as our City’s Mayor. I am looking forward to a terrific year for Santa Clarita and very excited to work with our residents, business community and city employees on helping to keep Santa Clarita the best city in California,” commented McLean.
During the special meeting, newly sworn in Mayor McLean will discuss upcoming goals for 2011, along with her thoughts about being Mayor and where the City is going in the upcoming year.
