The 24th Annual Art Classic Gala will be sponsored by the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association (SCAA).

The event will be on October 19 from 2-5 p.m. at Hart Hall in Hart Park. The exhibit will be free and open to the public on Sunday, October 20 from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m.
The renowned judges are:
Phyllis Doyon – Gallery owner and prolific watercolor artist, Doyon is a board member of the National Watercolor Society. She had over 40 solo shows and paints over 500 paintings a year. Her paintings have been award-winners at numerous exhibitions. Doyon has owned her own gallery in Camarillo for over 30 years, teaching, demonstrating and being a popular art exhibit juror. Born in Wisconsin, she grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and since 1973 she has lived in Camarillo. A graduate of Oxnard College, Phyllis studied abstract concept with internationally-known James Jarvaise.
Julie Snyder – Award-winning oil painter, world-traveler, Snyder was born and raised in Scotland. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and lived a few years on one of the islands off the coast of Spain and now leads painting travel groups to various locations in Europe. An illustrator for advertising and the motion picture industry, Snyder lives in Southern California and gives workshops and teaches in Glendale and Tujunga.
John Nichols – Prized photographer and curator of the Santa Paula Art Museum, Nichols also owns John Nichols Gallery in Santa Paula. He has been exhibiting and promoting vintage and contemporary photography / fine art since 1984. He has curated numerous exhibits for museums and other groups in Ventura County and is a regular contributor to Edible Ojai and Ventura County Magazine. As director of the Art Alliance, Nichols promotes and exhibits art about agriculture. He has managed the Garden Stage at the Monterey Jazz Festival for over 25 years.
