Metrolink Toy Train To Visit SCV Twice

khts_holidayspecialThe City of Santa Clarita invites community members to greet the Metrolink Holiday Toy Express as it make two stops in Santa Clarita to give holiday performances and collect donations for the “Spark of Love” toy drive.

The festively decorated train will stop at the Newhall Metrolink station on Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. and the Via Princessa Metrolink station on Sunday, December 20 at 8:15 p.m.

Residents are invited to come out to the Newhall and Via Princessa Metrolink stations to greet the Holiday Toy Express and bring a new, unwrapped toy to be collected by Santa, Mrs. Claus and their friends aboard the train. All toys will be donated to the Southland Firefighters’ “Spark of Love” toy drive, sponsored by Metrolink and KABC Channel 7.

“The Metrolink Holiday Toy Express is a great way to help spread holiday cheer this season,” said Councilmember Marsha McLean. “Decorated with holiday displays and 50,000 twinkling lights, the Holiday Toy Express allows residents to donate to children in need, while enjoying a fantastic holiday show.”

The Holiday Toy Express will present two back-to-back holiday shows at the Newhall Metrolink station, one for each side of the train, to accommodate attendees. The Old Town Newhall Association will also be on hand at the Newhall stop to treat guests to complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.

The Newhall Metrolink station is located at 24300 Railroad Avenue in Old Town Newhall. The Via Princessa Metrolink station is located at 19201 Via Princessa, at the corner of Via Princessa and Weyerhauser Way.
