A Hart High student was assaulted yesterday afternoon while she walked home from the Valencia Town Center.
According to deputies the girl was hit with a beer bottle possibly thrown by the occupants of a white mid-size truck. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m.
The girl was struck in the upper chest and sheriffs are looking for anyone who was in the area and might have seen the incident.
“She came in crying with her shirt covered in the liquid,” said the girl’s father. “She’s never been hit like that before and was dumbfounded.”
Deputies believe this was an isolated incident but are still looking for the suspects.
“Thank God the bottle didn’t hit her in the head,” said Detective Darland who took the report.
The girl suffered bruising and welts from the impact but had no significant injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Clarita Sheriffs Station at (661) 255-1121.
