Mid-Day Bus Service To LA Starting Soon

Shuttle Service Gives Commuters Greater Travel Options

The City of Santa Clarita Transit is announcing a new mid-day service to and from Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles. The new service, called Mid-Day Flyer 747, will begin Monday, June 4th.

The Mid-Day Flyer 747 shuttle service will make one trip going to Union Station and a return trip to Santa Clarita. The service will operate on weekdays and serve the Via Princessa, Santa Clarita and Newhall Metrolink Stations.

Passenger pick-up times are 11:00 a.m. (Via Princessa Metrolink), 11:15 a.m. (Santa Clarita Metrolink) and 11:30 a.m. (Newhall Metrolink), with an arrival time of 12:20 p.m. at Union Station. The Mid-Day Flyer 747 will depart Union Station at 12:35 p.m. for a return trip to Santa Clarita with drop-off times of: 1:20 p.m. (Newhall Metrolink), 1:35 p.m. (Santa Clarita Metrolink) and 1:50 p.m. (Via Princessa Metrolink).

“The City wanted to provide commuters with public transportation options for the middle of the day,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “The new mid-day bus service is great for anyone who doesn’t need to be in Los Angles until the afternoon, works a half day or needs to get home early.”

Mid-Day Flyer 747 will operate for three months before being permanently added to the schedule. Transit is also considering mid-day service to additional areas.

Fare for the service is $4.00, with a reduced rate of $2.00 for seniors 60 and over and disabled passengers. Riders can use the EZ Transit Pass or the 20-Ride Punch Pass.
