Klein_Family_PicSheriff Lee Baca held a news conference at Sheriff’s Headquarters in Monterey Park today to repeat a plea for the public’s help in finding missing Canyon Country man Dusan Klein who is now considered a ‘person of interest’ in his wife’s murder.

Dusan and Renata Klein left their Wildwind Canyon Road home on June 12, with their black and white cocker spaniel, Cindy, in a 1999 gold-colored Jeep Cherokee.

Renata Klein’s body was found three days later along Big Tujunga Canyon Road in Angeles National Forest and Baca confirmed that she was murdered, but did not reveal the exact cause of death.

Dusan Klein is now considered a ‘person of interest’ in the case, and there has been no sign of him, the dog or the car.

The couple was having serious financial difficulties and they were scheduled to be evicted from their house on Monday, June 13. The front door is now padlocked and neighbors have placed candles and flowers in front of the location.

The couple’s son spoke at the press conference.

“This is a tragedy,” he said. “My mom didn’t deserve to go out like this. She was a beautiful caring woman.”

Dusan Klein is described as having a very thick Czechoslovakian accent; he is a Caucasian male, 6 feet, 2 inches in height, weighing 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sheriff’s Homicide at (323) 890-5500. Read KHTS’s original story here.
