A black and white capuchin monkey is on the loose in Canyon Country and its owner is frantic. (A typical capuchin is pictured at right. This is not the missing monkey)
It’s not just a pet, this animal is a service monkey and was in the middle of training when it made its escape. It was lost Monday night on Sierra Highway near Mint Canyon and was last seen Wednesday night near the Gentle Barn on Sierra Highway, across the street from the Canyon Country Little League fields.

The monkey is described as having a white face, chest and belly, with black fur covering the rest of its body. A reward for its safe return is being offered.
If you see the monkey, do not approach it, as it may run away. Any sightings should be reported to its owner, Wendy at (951) 315-5651 or Tom, from a local wildlife rescue, at (805) 341-6308.
