The Arthritis Walk is the Arthritis Foundation’s annual nationwide event that raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability and provides communities and individuals a fun & healthy way to assist in improving the lives of the 50 million men, women and children doctor-diagnosed with arthritis. Participants walk in honor of a friend or family member with arthritis. People with arthritis wear blue hats to signify their action in taking control of their condition. The event features a three-mile and one-mile course, with arthritis information and activities for the entire family.
Debbie Martin, development director for the Valley Office of the Arthritis Foundation, anticipates as many as 2,000 walkers will participate this coming Sunday. The organization’s website reports more than $82,000 in donations have been received as of May 30. There is still time to participate. Registration is open to individuals and teams; form a new team or join an existing team. www.MagicMountainArthritisWalk.org
