“I am a mixed media metal sculptor. My work is abstract and is inspired by music. I listen to music and interpret it– how I feel about the subject matter or how the music makes me feel,” said Tyzbir

This show is the first to be put on by the Santa Clarita Valley Artists’ Association in the new gallery space.

“My piece titled Counterpoint was influenced by Adele’s music,” Tyzbir said. “Counterpoint means two different aspects of a piece of music come together in a whole, the two aspects being male and female because her music is so much about relationships.”

Tyzbir’s artwork consists of acrylic paints, glass, and different types of metal combined together to form a unique sculpture.

“Down & Out Blues was influenced by a variety of Blues music. Moody, angst and always hopeful are some of the feelings conveyed by this piece,” she said.

The exhibition is located at 24251 Town Center Drive and Tyzbir will be there from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 7.

“When I work with the metal I heat it, forge it and bend it. I love making the metal look active and almost flexible,”  she said.

Tyzbir is one of many artists who are displaying their artwork at this exhibition.

“I fell in love with metal and I have been an artist for a long time. I was collecting small pieces of metal art and decided that I wanted to learn how to create metal art,” she said. “I learned how to weld and work with metal. I wanted to included these new pieces in my arsenal of artwork.”
