In anticipation of the new City of Santa Clarita Public Library system coming online July 1, 2011, the City of Santa Clarita and LSSI will offer residents a variety of opportunities to obtain their new City library card during June.
Effective July 1, 2011, the City is assuming the three libraries in Canyon Country, Newhall and Valencia. At that time, library patrons will need a new City library card to check out materials and use the library computers. New City library cards are free of charge and residents can pick from one of 10 card designs.

To receive a new City library card, residents will need to show either a valid California Driver license or a valid California Identification card with a current address or two forms of identification, one showing their identity and the other indicating a mailing address in California.
Additionally, a library card application (in English and Spanish) is available online here. Residents may complete the online application, which can be accessed by library staff at the card distribution centers detailed below during June. Library cards may also be obtained at any of the City’s three branches after July 1.
