Burglar and partner to be sentenced in February.
A mother-son team was convicted on felony counts of burglary, receiving stolen property and conspiracy stemming from an October 2006 incident in Canyon Country.
Homeowner Nadine Teter heard someone trying to get into her Canvas Street home and, fearing for her life, shot Michael Lugo three times. Lugo’s mother, Cynthia Brandon, was waiting in a nearby car. She flagged down deputies, telling them Lugo was injured in a gang shooting, but deputies quickly connected the pair to the burglary.
Both mother and son are scheduled for sentencing in February.
