Musical Performance Calendar

Holiday entertainment brought to you by local schools and performing arts groups.


[view:node_ad=5]If you're looking for a program to feed your holiday need look no further, local performing arts groups and schools have provided numerous opportunities for you to see local performers at their best.   Here’s a list of events to help you plan:


Dec. 2 – Placerita Junior High School ’s annual Winter Concert, featuring the school’s bands – 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Admission free.


Dec. 3 – Intermediate and advanced concert bands from Rio Norte Junior High School and possibly a choir of students from the Drama Department will join community groups for a holiday concert – 6 to 8 p.m., Starbucks parking lot, Tesoro Marketplace.


Dec. 3-5 – Golden Valley High School Drama Department presents “Robin Hood” – 7 p.m., Valencia High School Theater. Tickets, $10; information or reservations, Janie Prucha at 298-8140, extension 1616.


Dec. 3–6 – West Ranch High School Theatre Department presents "Loving Lives," a comedy by Alan Haehnel –  7 p.m., West Ranch High School Little Theatre, room 601.  Admission, $8.


Dec. 4 – Rancho Pico Junior High fall band and orchestra concert featuring advanced, intermediate and beginning bands, orchestra and jazz ensemble – 7 p.m. multipurpose room. Admission $5,


Dec 4-6 – Fall Dance Concert presented by COC Dance College of the Canyons Dance presents its Fall dance Concert, featuring dances choreographed by students, alumni, and faculty. 8 pm in the Black Box Theater. Tickets, $10 / $5.


Dec. 9 – West Ranch High School band and orchestra present their winter concert – 7 p.m., Rancho Pico Junior High. Tickets, $5.


Dec. 9 – Placerita Junior High School annual winter concert featuring the advanced string orchestra and chorus – 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Admission free.


Dec. 9 & 11 – Canyon High School Choral Winter Concert, featuring all choirs – 7:30 p.m., La Mesa Junior High. Tickets $6; with ABS card $5; children 10 and under free. Information or reservations, Mary Purdy at 252-6110, ext. 445


Dec. 10 – Rio Norte Junior High winter concert featuring Concert Bands 1 and 2 and the drum line – 7 p.m. Rio Norte multipurpose room. Admission $3.


Dec. 11 – Golden Valley High School holiday band concert –  7 p.m.,  Golden Valley gym


Dec. 11 – Winter concert featuring the Ranch Pico Junior High and West Ranch High School choirs – 7 p.m., Rancho Pico multipurpose room. Cost, $6. 

Dec. 12 -Holiday Concert presented by COC Music Musicians from the College of the Canyons Music Department perform holiday favorites.  7:30 pm Tickets: $10 / $5


Dec. 12-13- Coffee, Cookies & Choir presented by COC Choir  The College of the Canyons Choirs will once again transform the venue into a festive and friendly cafe with tasty treats and fabulous music.7:30 pm in the Cougar Café- Tickets: $20 / $15

Dec. 13 – Holiday Gifts presented by SC Master Chorale a kid-friendly 75-minute concert includes festive holiday tunes, sing-alongs and a visit from Santa. 3 pm Tickets: $10

Dec. 13- Be of Good Cheer! presented by SC Master Chorale   8pm Tickets: $26 / $22 / $19
 

Dec. 17 – Arroyo Seco Junior High Winter Concert – 7:30 p.m., Knudson Hall. Tickets $3.


Dec 19-21- NUTCRACKER 2008 presented by SC Ballet The Santa Clarita Ballet Company presents its 14th annual performance of "The Nutcracker." Tickets: $28 / $26 / $22
