Musical Road Hits Sour Note With Lancaster Residents

Lancaster road trip not quite the classic they had hoped.

And you thought angled back in parking in downtown Newhall was a silly idea – we’ll here’s one from
our neighbors to the north.

Lancaster
officials made a deal with Honda to cut grooves in Avenue K between 62nd
and 70th Street West
so motorists driving over the road at 55 m.p.h will hear the "William Tell
Overture."

While the deal was music to Honda’s ears, neighbors have complained, likening
the sound to “an orchestra perpetually out of tune.” If you want to hear this
limited edition concert, you better drive fast. Public Works crews are
scheduled to pave over the road on Tuesday.
