Condie is a graduate of California
State University,
Northridge with a degree in Clothing and Textiles and Fashion Design. She has taught at
the American College
in Westwood, Santa Monica Community
College and the Los
Angeles Unified School
District. She has also worked with several youth
groups including the Boys & Girls Club.

Despite having congenital heart defects, which required
multiple heart surgeries over the years, Condie never let her health problems slow
her down her quest to do good.

She is married to Gary Condie, a Santa Clarita CPA.

The ideals of American Mothers, Inc (AMI) began with Anna
Reeves Jarvis at the time of the Civil War. This ultimately grew into the national
holiday known as Mother’s Day. Today, AMI is the official sponsor of Mother’s
Day. The first National Mother of the Year was presented to Sarah
Delano Roosevelt in 1935.

Every year since then AMI has named a Mother of the Year
from among the 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District
of Columbia.

AMI is an interfaith, non-political, non-profit organization
for women and men who identify with their purpose of strengthening the moral
and spiritual foundations of the family and the home. The event was sponsored
by the California Association of American Mothers, Inc., who chooses a Mother
of the Year each year to represent California
at the national level.

Condie will compete for the 2009 National Mother of the Year
title at the group’s national convention April 22-25 in Portland,
Oregon.
